Mahikeng: The MEC for department of Education, Viola Motsumi will this Friday, 02 June 2023, represent Premier Kaobitsa Bushy Maape by addressing the SA Youth Opportunities Roadshow organised by Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator in collaboration with the Department of Employment and Labour, National Youth Development Agency, Youth Employment Service (YES) South Africa, and the North West Office of the Premier.
Expected to be attended by hundreds of young people from across the four districts of the province, the SA Youth Opportunities Roadshow aims to empower young people looking for jobs by providing invaluable insights into available opportunities and alternative pathways to employment. This event will foster networking and open conversations about youth employment, job-seeking strategies and entrepreneurship. It will also feature the participation of local community organisations, civil society entities, and other government agencies, further enriching the experience.
Key objectives of the Youth Opportunities Roadshow include amongst others, to connect young people to earning, learning and micro-enterprise opportunities through SA Youth, as well as other complementary platforms like the Department of Employment and Labours’ Employment Services South Africa system and the National Youth Development Agencies’ ERP system.
The roadshow will also be used as a platform to showcase the invaluable work being done by implementing partners within the National Pathway Management Network, alongside other influential stakeholders from the government, civil society, and private sector, who are all committed to combating youth unemployment and to facilitate direct connections between young people and credible employment opportunities.
