Transport Minister officially hands over bicycles to learners and leads Road Safety activation in Mahikeng

The Minister of Transport, Mr Joe Maswanganyi, together with the MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management in the North West, Dr. M N Motlhabane will, on Friday, 1st December 2017 officially hand over bicycles to learners from Lokaleng Middle School in Mahikeng in the North West province.

The distribution of the bicycles forms part of the Non-motorised, Shova Kalula programme of the Department of Transport targeted at learners from a previously disadvantaged background who walk to and from school more than 3 km and less than 5 km a single trip.

The Minister and MEC will also visit the Bradford Park local Taxi rank in Mahikeng to engage and interact with taxi operators, drivers, commuters and road users at large as part of the Department’s road safety campaign for the festive season that will soon be launched.

The details of the Minister’s official bicycle hand over and road safety activation are as follows:

ROAD SAFETY ACTIVATION AT BRADFORD PARK LOCAL TAXI RANK

Venue: Bradford Park Taxi rank , opposite Victoria Hospital in Mahikeng CBD

Time: 13h00
