Klerksdorp - Premier of the North West, Kaobitsa Bushy Maape recently visited the KOSH Crisis Centre in the Matlosana Local Municipality as part of 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Child Abuse. The centre is located at Tshepong Hospital in Jouberton and it offers services ranging from counselling to capacity building as well as preparing victims of Gender-Based Violence for court procedures and support. It currently receives an annual budget of six hundred and fifty thousand rand from government.

Mahikeng: The North West Premier has reacted with shock to the news that the private residence of the MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Lenah Miga in Makhubung, Mahikeng caught fire last night. Premier Maape is however, pleased that despite this unfortunate incident, no life was lost and there were no injuries sustained by any of the occupants when the house caught fire.

Earlier today we received sad news of the torching of the property that belongs to Kgosi Ramono Linchwe of Bakgatla Ba Kgafela in Moruleng. The information gleaned from the Office of the Police Commissioner is that the investigation on the matter is continuing. However it was established that a group of unknown people went to the Royal homestead and fought the security at the gate. After overpowering the security they then entered the homestead and torched the property I have already directed the MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari and SAPS Provincial Commissioner, General Kwena to take urgent steps to safeguard the personal safety of Kgosi Ramono Linchwe, and to ensure that the safety of the rest of the community is guaranteed.
