MEC Motlhabane to Participate in the Annual Taung Ward 20, Reconciliation, Healing and Renewal (RHR) Program led By Cllr Maribe

The community of Ward 20 in Greater Taung Local Municipality will embark on their annual Reconciliation, Healing and Renewal program. MEC for Community safety and transport Management, Dr. Mpho Motlhabane is not only from this community but has officially been allocated this constituency to serve. It is on this basis that MEC Motlhabane will take an active part on the day by leading the cleansing and wreath laying as well as address the crime issues afflicting the community.

All local religious leaders, NPO, NGO, local SAPS and community in general will also be part. The program will first start with a cleansing ceremony on the Road D201. This is an accident prone road, as many people have lost their lives and some are left with the permanent disabilities due to serious injuries suffered.

Religious leaders will start with prayers at the identified high accident zones, then proceed to lay wreaths at the graves of those who have lost their lives on the road D201 at Kgomotso and Kameelpits respectively.

The Formal Prayer Service will focus at the high rate of crime in ward 20 and surrounding villages which are experiencing an escalation of very serious criminal activities. This formal program will take the form of " mantswe a supileng a sefapano", '7 last messages from Jesus when he was on the cross'. The "mantswe a supileng a sefapano" service will be led by religious leaders from different congregations in and around ward 20.
