MEC Motlhabane to lead letsema project geared to clear crime hot spot in Boitekong - Rustenburg

In an attempt to reduce areas with crime potential in the Province, the Community Safety and Transport Management MEC, Dr Mpho Motlhabane will lead a team of more than 100 communities with inclusive of key stakeholders who will be volunteering their services to clear an area identified as a crime hot spot in the Greater Boitekong in Rustenburg.

Aligned with Mandela Month activities, this letsema project will be conducted in line with the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED); one of the National Crime Prevention Strategy pillars focusing on designing systems to reduce the opportunity for crime and ease of detection and identification of criminals.

The CPTED letsema activities are been determined by crime trends and patterns decided upon by collective stakeholders during consultative meetings.
